A Cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, on Wednesday approved a draft law amending the Martyrs Fund of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army and Security Agencies Law for 2021.
The draft law comes in light of the amendment to the Public Security Law No. 38 of 1965, according to which the Public Security Directorate (PSD) became the legal and realistic successor to both the Civil Defense Department and the Gendarmerie Department.
It also comes upon the need to reconstitute the Special Joint Military Committee in the Martyrs Fund.
Also, the Cabinet approved a revised system for recognition and certificates equivalency of non-Jordanian higher education institutions for year 2021.
According to the amendments, the recognition committee for non-Jordanian higher education institutions, the non-Jordanian certificate equivalency committee, and procedures for issuing decisions related to the equivalence of non-Jordanian degrees will be reconstituted in accordance with aligned instructions with the National Qualifications Framework, and procedures for requesting the equivalence of any non-Jordanian certificate and submitting an objection against rejecting the application.
The government also approved a modified system for the impound vehicles system for 2021, for the purpose of applying the provisions and procedures for submitting bids contained in the government procurement system to the mechanism for selecting impound places and those in charge of managing them.
