Ammon News - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and the Criminal Investigation Department, a division of the Public Security Department (PSD), on Tuesday warned of fake credit firms offering fraudulent loans to citizens after collecting fees from them.

A PSD spokesman said that the department had received information from the CBJ that unlicensed firms are using social media platforms to lure people by claiming that they can secure them loans and credit facilities from local banks and other lenders.

The PSD called on the public to stay vigilant and refrain from responding to such advertisements or dealing with such firms. It said that people can call 911 or visit the nearest police station and lodge a complaint if they come across any of those fraudsters.
