The Ministry of Health said Saturday it recorded 25 coronavirus deaths and 2,584 new cases across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 4,675 and the total number of infections to 386,496.
The cases were: 1,772 in Amman, 200 in Balqa, 188 in Irbid, including 10 in Ramtha district, 155 in Zarqa, 72 in Madaba, 65 in Jerash, 52 in Mafraq, 25 in Ajloun, 22 in Ma'an, including 10 in Petra, 19 in Karak and 14 in Aqaba, according to the daily report by the Health Ministry and the Prime Ministry.
It said that the number of active CIVID-19 cases currently stands at 35,534, with 192 admitted today to hospitals, and 44 were discharged.
It also pointed out that the total number of confirmed cases being hospitalized reached 1,424 cases, while 1,105 were in isolation rooms in hospitals yesterday, at an occupancy rate of 25%. The total number of ICU beds used in hospitals yesterday was 284, at an occupancy rate of 30%, including 135 on ventilators, it said.
The daily brief also said that 2,447 cases recovered today in home isolation and in hospitals, bringing to 346,287 total recoveries since the outbreak last year.
It further said that 26,452 swab tests were carried out today, bringing the total number of examinations to 4,566,735, with a positivity rate of today of about 9.77%.
The Ministry called for adherence to defence orders, and to follow preventive measures, especially wearing masks and not holding gatherings of more than 20 people, in addition to following the awareness campaigns that it launched in partnership with a number of ministries and entities to prevent infection, and to register for vaccination.
