The Public Security Directorate (PSD) asked all citizens and residents to adhere to defense orders, total and partial curfew hours, and all preventive and public safety measures in place, to prevent and protect the public against the coronavirus spread by wearing face masks, adhering to social distancing and shunning gatherings of all types.
In a press statement put out on Thursday, the PSD said, in light of the developments of the Kingdom's epidemiological situation and the spread of the Covid-19 virus: "Any violation of public safety steps, under any circumstances, will not be tolerated, and legal and administrative measures will be taken against lockdown flouters."
On its field action, the PSD has put in place relevant plans that guarantee a security deployment that guarantees enforcement of defense orders, whether in terms of implementing the blanket curfew on Friday, or monitoring the extent of compliance in the remaining days, the statement pointed out.
Ploice closure checkpoints will be established and security patrols will deploy in the neighborhoods, and primary and secondary roads to control any form of curfew violations, in addition to plans to monitor the commitment during the Friday prayer time, allowing the public to go to mosques on foot, according to the PSD.
Civil defense teams will work at their maximum capacity to meet the citizens' needs and provide ambulance and rescue services, calling on all to call the unified emergency phone: 911, or via the 911 security app, when needed and necessary, the PSD announced.
