Ammon News - AMMAN - The Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS) is hosting its Eighth Annual Amman Model United Nations Conference (AMMUN), under the theme of "Sovereignty," and brings together 350 students with 16 schools from Jordan, UAE, Palestine, Bahrain, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Zimbabwe. The conference is held under the Patronage of Princess Sarvath El-Hassan.
Prince Mired Bin Raad , the keynote speaker of its inauguration ceremony, highlighted Jordan’s mine-clearance efforts and its future demining plans.
AMMUN, solely organized by students of ABS, is a replica of the Model United Nations (MUN) Conference where high school students play the roles of member UN countries and work hand in hand in an attempt to find solutions to various world problems.
This student-organized high school gathering aims to unite various races, nationalities and beliefs in a forum that provides a motivating and simultaneously challenging opportunity to grasp the phenomenon that is the "global community".
The ‘leaders of the future’ can unite and work out solutions to monumental problems we face in our everyday lives, said its organizers.
