Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to participate in an international conference held virtually by the Brookings Institution between 22 and 26 February, under the title “the Middle East and the new US administration”, according to a Royal Court statement.
The Brookings Institution, founded in 1916, is seen as a highly influential think tank specialised in international public and foreign policy research, as well as global economics and development. King Abdullah was the inaugural speaker at the launch of the institution’s Centre for Middle East Policy in 2002, the Jordan news reported.
The conference — held with the participation of heads of state, government officials, diplomats, policy experts, researchers and academics — is an effort to bolster international dialogue with the aim of building a deeper understanding on key regional and global issues among policy leaders in the Middle East and North Africa region and the United States.
