Civil defense deals with 2,533 ambulance cases since depression onset

Ammon News - Amman, Feb. 18 (Petra) - Since the beginning of the depression, civil defense personnel have dealt with 2,533 emergency cases, including 107 births, 283 dialysis cases, 95 Covid-19 suspected infections, 9 suffocation incidents due to heating devices, described in moderate health condition and helped 2,039 patients countrywide.

In a press statement, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said the civil defense teams have assisted more than 1,197 people who were stranded in snow and evacuated to safe places without any injuries.

Moreover, the crews carried out 284 rescue operations, triggered by traffic accidents, landslides, or weather-related incidents, the spokesperson said.

The police official said the civil defense cadres work at "full" capacity to meet the citizens' needs and respond to their calls.
