Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti expressed his pride in the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (JRMS), which "efficiently" carried its role despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking during a meeting Monday with former directors of the JRMS to mark the Day of Loyalty to Retired Servicemen and Veterans, Huneiti hailed their role in development of the Jordanian state and armed forces.
JRMS Director General, Brig. Gen. Abdullah Omeish praised retired servicemen as "a key pillar of the state, houses of expertise and first line of defence, who laid the foundations for the medical development of the Kingdom and the armed forces."
"We now continue the march, devoting all our efforts to support the state and the health sector to face the enormous challenges we live in in light of the coronavirus pandemic," he said.
Huneiti honored a number of former directors in recognition of their service during a ceremony attended by senior army officers.
