The Jordanian Strategy Forum (JSF) said the number of students enrolled in public schools countrywide for 2020/2021 academic year increased by 11.3%, against the previous comparison period, while the number of students in private schools dropped by 19% for the same period.
In its statistics released on Sunday on the student enrollment in the Ministry of Education (government) and private schools for 2020/2021 in various governorates, the JSF said the capital Amman tops the list of the number of private schools' students by 33%, while the rest 67% have joined public schools, followed by the southern Aqaba governorate with 24% in private schools and 76% in the public system.
Meanwhile, Mafraq and Ma'an recorded the highest rates in the number of students enrolled in public schools, reaching 95% in both governorates, according to JSF.
