Speaking during a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC), he said 2023 will be the year of late economic recovery due to the Covid-19 pandemic, adding 2021 will see a plunge on the energy demand to an "unprecedented" extent that parallels the situation in 1930. According to a AREC press statement on Saturday, Ta'ani stressed the importance of pan-Arab economic integration and the need for Arab transformation from the consumption stage to the role of contributing to the modern human renaissance in the era of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, focusing primarily on sustainable development with modern technology techniques. The Fifth Industrial Revolution and the pandemic-induced effects require all world countries to review energy strategies for the new economic and energy transformation and focus on climate change, renewable energy and the transition to fuel cells for storing and generating power, according to Ta'ani. Locally, Ta'ani spoke about the preparedness of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and their role in sustainable development, noting that the JAF has used renewable energy systems on a "large" scale since 1989.
