Rehabilitation projects to revive virus-hit tourism in Aqaba

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef al-Fayez, on Friday, along with Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kasbi, and President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nayef al-Bakhit checked first-hand on a number of projects in the port city of Aqaba.

The projects aimed at developing the Great Arab Revolt Square, the Aqaba Byzantium Church, and the Ayla archaeological site.

Al-Bakhit said that the rehabilitation project of the Great Arab Revolt Square will add 4,500 square meters of buildings, which contain a number of museums and various galleries that include Aqaba's historical and archaeological holdings and reflect the history and civilization of the city throughout the ages.
