Ammon News - Public Security director (PSD), Major Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, discussed on Wednesday, with the Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Bernard Lynch, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries public security agencies.

Speaking during the meeting, Hawatmeh emphasized the "deep-rooted" relations between the two countries' public security apparatuses, which was reflected in a number of cooperation frameworks in the policing, security and training fields.

The PSD has embraced a policy of openness to security services in various countries worldwide and transfer of their "successful and advanced" experiences into Jordan's security system to raise performance efficiency of its units and personnel, according to Hawatmeh.

The PSD eyes further cooperation and coordination with Australian public security in the future, he said.

Lynch, for his part, praised the "advanced" position achieved by the PSD at the regional and international levels, and its development, which enabled it to provide an umbrella for security and stability and face all the challenges imposed by the region's developments.

The Australian government is keen to open more prospects for joint cooperation and exchange of experiences with the PSD, according to the envoy.
