Ammon News - Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD) Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh met with Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru and discussed means to enhance cooperation and coordination in the police and security fields, and exchange of expertise in training, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Hawatmeh stressed the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Japanese ties and lauded the extent of continued security cooperation, especially in training and technical areas.
He also expressed PSD’s keenness to keep pace with international developments in regard to law enforcement and crime-fighting agencies, by examining best practices and building effective global partnerships.
The envoy highlighted the importance of relations between the two countries' law enforcement agencies and their continuous cooperation, stressing the two sides' keenness to open new channels in the fields of training, and knowledge exchange in the security field.
