The Senate, in its session held on Thursday, chaired by its president, Faisal Fayez, and attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, and the Cabinet members, approved 6 draft laws as referred from the Lower House.
The upper chamber have ratified four agreements for judicial and legal cooperation with Ukraine in the areas of extradition, transfer of convicted persons, and mutual legal assistance in criminal and civil matters.
However, the senators recommended to clarify the national law to be implemented in the extradition treaty, as stated clearly and explicitly in the two agreements on mutual assistance in criminal and civil matters, signed with Kiev.
The Senate has also endorsed an agreement to establish the Jordan-UK partnership, in a way seeking to regulate ties between the two countries, in accordance to provisions of the 1997 London-EU partnership agreement, following the UK's withdrawal from the bloc.
The senators, moreover, approved the draft law amending the Agricultural Risks Fund (ARF) Law, as referred from the Lower House, to expand umbrella of compensation funneled to non-ARF members.
