Ammon News - Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, Chen Chuandong, has discussed remotely Wednesday, with Jordanian PHD students at Chinese universities, enrolled on the expense of China's Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), views on Chinese-Jordanian cooperation and the students' role in promoting it.
Speaking during a webinar, which also saw participation of diplomats, journalists and academics, the envoy stressed the "strategic" relations and the "distinguished" partnership between the two countries in various fields, highlighting the development they are witnessing at various levels.
Noting the Covid-19 repercussions, he said the pandemic has affected Chinese-Jordanian cooperation "to some extent," and thus bilateral trade dropped by 10.39% on an annual basis in the first 11 months of 2020, indicating that China's imports from Jordan increased by 2.62%.
2,800 Jordanians participated in Chinese aid training programs in 2019, including 50 PhD and master's students, according to the envoy.
The participants, in turn, stressed the need to build on the achievements made so far and stressed their keenness to strengthen relations between the two countries.
