President of the Jordanian Pharmacists Association (JPA), Zaid Kilani, said that Health Minister, Nathir Obeidat, had instructed to take the necessary procedures regarding the JPA's demands.
During a meeting between the JPA's board, Obeidat and ministry's officials, a number of issues related to pharmacists working in the public sector and demands of the pharmacy sector in general were discussed, Kilani said Monday in a statement.
He added that issues of overtime bonus, incentives for pharmacists and appointing pharmacists and doctors of pharmacy in the ministry, and prioritize this major in terms of employment in order to improve health care provided to patients, especially in hospitals, were also discussed.
The meeting also dealt with the licensing and practice system and the pharmaceutical board, which has reached an advanced stage, awaiting for the cabinet approval to send the legal amendment to the Parliament.
