Ammon News - The Nippon Foundation, as part of its Read Japan Project, on Sunday donated 78 books to the Hashemite University, according to a Japanese embassy statement. Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru and Hashemite University President Fawwaz Al Abed Al Haq attended the ceremony.
The project aims to support studies and research in Jordan on Japan and enhance understanding between the two counties, the statement said. The 78 books cover different aspects of Japan, including its history, literature, culture and contemporary political and economic situation.
The ambassador expressed his appreciation of the role played by the Hashemite University in the field of Japanese language education and other researches on diverse aspects of Japan.
Expressing his gratitude for the donation, Haq reaffirmed that the Hashemite University will continue cooperation and coordination over expanding Japanese language education.
The Nippon Foundation is a private, non-profit organisation in Japan. Established in 1962, it carries out a wide range of philanthropic activities both within and outside of Japan, according to the statement.
