Army foils drug smuggling attempt at Syrian border

Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone, in cooperation with Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), on Saturday thwarted an attempt to infiltrate the Kingdom and smuggle in a quantity of drugs from Syria, according to an official military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).

The source said that the army personnel applied the rules of engagement and forced the suspects to retreat to Syrian territory.

After inspecting the area, 362 palm-sized sheets of hashish were seized and transferred to the concerned authorities, the source added..
