Jordan records 12 COVID-19 related deaths, 864 infections

12 COVID-19 related deaths and 864 virus cases were recorded in the Kingdom, a statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry said on Friday.

The cases comprised 612 infections in Amman, 120 in Irbid, including 25 in Ramtha District, 36 in Zarqa, 20 in Madaba, 18 in Jerash, 15 in Balqa'a, 12 in Tafila, 10 in Mafraq, 9 in Aqaba, 5 in Karak, 4 in Ma'an including one case in Petra district, and 3 in Ajloun, the statement added.

A total of 67 COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospitals, and 44 recovered patients left hospitals.

A total of 22,359 virus tests were also conducted on Friday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered to 3,829,308 with the share of tests returning a positive result, known as positive rate, standing at 3.86 per cent, the statement added.
