The Ministry of Health announced 7 Covid-19 fatalities and 1,058 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 4,269 and the caseload to 324,169.
The new infections comprised 654 cases in the capital Amman, 133 in Irbid, including 2 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 87 in Balqa, 48 in Mafraq, 34 in Zarqa, 26 in Jerash, 23 in Karak, 20 in Aqaba, 14 in Tafileh, 13 in Madaba, 8 in Ajloun, 7 in Ma'an, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 53, while 58 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the brief, the cumulative number of recoveries recorded Thursday, whether at hospitals or home, stood at 808, bringing the total to 311,888 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of patients still receiving treatment at hospitals has reached 379, including 52 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 131, or 15% of the total ICU bed capacity.
With regard to testing, 22,716 tests were conducted Thursday, 4.66 percent of which were positive, the statement noted.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 3,806,949, the joint statement noted.
