Ammon News - The Nippon Foundation in Japan announced the donation of 92 books to the Center of Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan under the foundation's "Read Japan" project to support studies and research in Jordan on Japan and to enhance understanding between the two counties.

Japan Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru, expressed his appreciation for the advanced and fertile research conducted by the CSS, hoping that the donated books will contribute to further enhancing CSS’s research capability, especially in relation to Japan.

Shimazaki also hoped that the donation will be the first step to further enhance the cooperation between the Embassy of Japan and the CSS.

CSS Director, Zaid Eyadat, said researchers at the CSS will benefit from the granted books, noting that the 92 books covers different aspects of Japan, from its history, literature, and culture to contemporary political and economic situation.

During the meeting with Eyadat, Ambassador Shimazaki discussed means of strengthening cooperation relations with think tanks and research institutions in Japan and developing relations between the University of Jordan and Japanese universities, including holding an annual conference on Japan's policies in the Middle East.

The Nippon Foundation is a private, non-profit organization in Japan. Established in 1962, it carries out a wide range of philanthropic activities both within and outside of Japan.

The Nippon Foundation has launched the Read Japan Project for book donation. The goal of this project is to use outstanding books to provide readers around the world with an accurate picture of Japan.
