Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Nayef Hajraf, for a discussion on activating the strategic dialogue between Jordan and the GCC member states.
Safadi and Hajraf discussed in the bilateral meeting the priorities on the GCC-Jordan list in the upcoming phase ahead of a meeting at the foreign ministers level to discuss the GCC-Jordan coordination and agreed that the next phase will focus on the sectors of health, food security and transportation, in addition to trade and investment.
They emphasized the importance of translating the "historical brotherly ties" between Jordan and the Gulf states into effective cooperation that would advance their joint interests and push forward natural integration.
Safadi and Hajraf highlighted the proceedings of the Al-Ula Summit and recommendations to support stability and boost development in Jordan and intensify efforts to implement the joint action plans that were agreed on within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the GCC.
Safadi commended the GCC for supporting the Kingdom and its development efforts, reiterating Jordan's keenness to support the GCC member states in addressing challenges.
The top diplomats underscored that security in Jordan and the Gulf region cannot be compartmentalized, stressing the importance of cooperation and coordination to bolster pan-Arab action and safeguard Arab interests.
