Ammon News - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) on Tuesday forecast that realtively cold weather conditions will prevail in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with southeasterly moderate winds.
The JMD warned of the risk of frost formation in the early morning and late night hours over the highlands and parts of the Badia regions.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 17 degrees Celsius, dipping to 6C during night hours, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 22C, dropping down to 12C at night.
Wednesday is expected to bring in similar weather conditions, with clouds at high and medium altitudes and southeasterly to southwesterly moderate to active winds, the JMD said.
As we head into Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a very cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression cantered over northern Turkey, pushing temperatures sharply down and bringing chilly and cloudy weather along with intermittent rain in the northern and central highlands, stretching to cover other areas of the country, the JMD predicted.
At night, rainfall is expected to turn heavier with thunder storms in the northern cities, the JMD added, noting that winds will be westerly brisk with strong gusts that may blow dust in the desert at times.
