47 elderly people at nursing homes get the vaccine

Ammon News - The Ministries of Health and Social Development kicked off a COVID-19 vaccination campaign at nursing homes, administering vaccines to 47 elderly people.

Director of the Family and Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Social Development Mahmoud Jabour said that health service providers gave the shots to the old men and women at the care home in Fuheis. They were out of 370 elderly people sheltered in care centers across the Kingdom run by the Ministry of Social Development.

Jabour said that a healthcare team is monitoring those who got the jabs for any post-vaccination complications, taking note of their history of disease, while a medical and nursing staff already supervises these centres regularly.

He said that some nine care homes of the voluntary and private sectors provide service to the elderly, in addition to healthcare under the COVID safety and prevention.

Jabour indicated that the ministry regularly inspects all the shelters to ensure the implementation of the ministry's precautionary plan to curb the spread of the virus.
