Snowstorm closes Madrid airport and creates travel chaos

Ammon News - Heavy snowfall from Storm Filomena caused disruption to flights to Madrid airport, blocked hundreds of roads and forced some regions to send out soldiers to clear roads to villages.

"Owing to the adverse meteorological conditions flights are being diverted from Madrid Barajas airport. Consult your airline for the state of your flight," Aena, a Spain-based company primarily engaged in the airports operation, which controls the country’s airports, said in a tweet.
