First women’s innovation lab in Jordan launched

Ammon News - The Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women (BPWA) on Sunday inaugurated the first women’s innovation lab in the Kingdom and the region, with the support of the Bank of Jordan.

During a virtual session, Director of the Investment and Entrepreneurship Department at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Nael Adwan said that the ministry provides business incubators, which support women and youth, adding that the ministry has also created a department specialised in innovation.

Director of the Women’s Innovation Lab Lana Mobaideen noted that the laboratory will provide the latest global methodologies and tools for innovation.

Executive Director of the Compliance Department at the Bank of Jordan Lana Barishi stressed the importance of supporting innovation and leadership, and the strategic partnership between the bank and the forum, focusing on providing continuous support to businesswomen.

The forum’s chairperson Taghreed Al Nafisi stated that the forum is “a hub for creativity and support for businesswomen”, adding that in 1997 it established the first business incubator in Jordan and the region, challenging the traditional ways of conducting business.
