Ammon News - The Lebanese government warned Saturday of the spread of the new variant of coronavirus during the post-holiday period.
Petra Khoury, the Lebanese Prime Minister's health adviser said that the new strain of the virus spreads fast among young people.
Meanwhile, Beirut Airport Director Fadi Al-Hassan ruled out the closure of the facility, but said flights from Britain, where the variant appeared first, might be banned.
Interior Minister Mohamed Fahmy also said he hoped infections will not increase "so that we do not have to return to the lockdowns of the country in light of the bad economic situation, but if cases rise, we are going to shut down."
