Five COVID-19 patients detained for violating home quarantine measures

Five people were detained in Irbid for defense order violations regarding home quarantine, a statement issued by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management said on Friday.

These individuals did not abide by home isolation measures, after testing positive for COVID-19, the statement added.

According to the defense order, a fine between JD 500 and JD 1,000 will be imposed for first-time violations, and imprisonment for up to one year, or a fine between JD 1,000 and JD 3,000 or both in the event of repeat offence.

The statement called on COVID-19 patients to adhere to health and safety measures.
