Minister of Labour, Minister of State for Investment Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) Maen Al-Qatamin said that national economy has been subjected to several shocks due to the repercussions of the novel coronavirus.
During a press conference at the Prime Ministry Thursday, al-Qatamin announced that a six-month program will be launched worth JD 200 million as of the current month.
The program, the minister said, aims at ensuring sustainable employment opportunities at the private sector.
Al-Qatamin added that it will cover 170,000 workers in the facilities affected by the pandemic.
Responding to a question about the SSC money, the minister stressed that the government does not allow any encroachment on the corporation money, adding that the executive authority is seeking for providing social security for subscribers and beneficiaries of workers and enterprises.
