Ammon News - AMMON - Jordan will switch to wintertime on Friday, October 30.
Clocks will be set back sixty minutes at 1:00 am after Thursday midnight, October 29, making the Kingdom two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
The Prime Minister decided to adopt switching to wintertime by delaying clocks 60 minutes as of the last Friday of October each year, while switching to summertime by moving the clock forward 60 minutes as of the midnight of the last Thursday of March each year.
Switching to summertime is adopted to conserve energy by making use of an extra hour of sunlight, switching back to wintertime in October when the winter season technically starts in the kingdom.
