During the meeting, President Abbas thanked His Majesty King Abdullah II for this gesture, adding the King's step embodies the "historic, brotherly" relations between the two countries and their peoples. Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad al-Maliki, and head of the PA Minister of Civil Affairs and Fatah Central Committee member Hussein al Sheikh, attended the meeting.
