Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The General Iftaa Department on Saturday denounced the blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, saying it will not accept any abuse of any of the prophets of Allah.

"Allah, Almighty has sent His prophets, the crème de la crème of His creation, and are the most loved and honourable to Him, as guides to humanity and a mercy to all people; And we, the Muslims, do not discriminate between any of the messengers," according to a statement issued by the department.

"Those who abused the Messenger of God, Muhammad, God's blessings and peace be upon him, do not truly know him, and are ignorant and have no knowledge of his life and teachings that call for tolerance, brotherhood, acquaintance and harmony," it said.

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other. Surely, the most honorable among you in the Providence of Allah are the most pious; surely Allah is Ever-Knowing, Ever-Cognizant," it cited a verse from the Qoran.

The statement said that the republication by a French magazine of the cartoons was meant to fuel hatred and foment strife in the whole world, calling for shunning violence, terrorism and insults that only lead to hatred and malice among peoples, which necessitates a firm and resolute stand against it.

It urged all Muslims to bear the responsibility of defending the Messenger of Allah, through displaying the prophet's morals and bright image to the world, and fending off suspicions directed at him and his life.
