Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 889 new coronavirus cases, in addition to 2 imported infections, on Sunday across the Kingdom, according to Health Minister Saed Jaber.
The majority of today’s cases were registered in the capital which accounted for 606 infections, a joint daily brief by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health said.
Breaking down today’s tally, the figures indicated that 19 were recorded in Karak, 46 in Balqa, 130 in Zarqa, 5 in Ma'an, 5 in Ajloun, 15 in Madaba, 4 in Mafraq, 13 in Jerash, 24 in Irbid, 1 in Aqaba and 19 in Tafilah, the statement added.
Furthermore, 13 deaths due to the virus have been reported, the majority of which were for elderly people and patients with chronic diseases, while a twenty-year-old young man, who suffers from meningitis, and a forty-year-old man, who suffers from a stomach tumor, were also reported dead, bringing the death toll deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic to 101, the statement noted.
Also, 193 patients of have recovered and were discharged from hospitals today.
Since August 7, a total of 14038 infections were reported across the Kingdom, Minister Jaber said.
On testing, 20381 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Sunday, bringing the total to 1.3 million since the crisis began.
