Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A record high of 634 COVID-19 infections were recorded across the Kingdom on Tuesday, Minister of Health Saad Jaber told journalists in the National Center For Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM).
Breaking down the cases, Jaber said: 273 cases were recorded in Amman, 120 in Balqa, 92 in Zarqa, 52 in Maan, 31 in Irbid, 29 in Karak, 17 in Madaba, 6 in Mafraq, 5 in Jerash, 1 in Ajloun and 1 in Tafilah, adding that 7 non-domestic cases were recorded.
COVID-19, a lung disease caused by the novel and highly contagious coronavirus, killed a woman in her eighties who had been receiving medical treatment in the Prince Hamza Hospital in Amman as the death toll surpasses 33 in the Kingdom.
Some 180 people recovered within the last 24 hours, Jaber said, adding that the epidemiological tracing teams conducted 12,260 COVID-19 tests today as the tally tops 1,095,748 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
The health minister urged people to abide by safety measures and social distancing, warning against the danger posed by gatherings and celebrations that flout safety measures.
