Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom on Sunday is expected to bake in a scorching heat wave that will push mercury levels well above annual average by almost 7-8 degrees Celsius and just one degree shy from the 40C threshold in the capital, Amman, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily reports.
In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as temperatures slide to around 26C, the Department added.
The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea port of Aqaba are set to swelter in blistering weather with temperatures hovering around 43C, the forecasters predicted.
The heat wave is likely to continue over the next two days, the JMD further said, noting that medium- and high-altitude clouds are forecast to appear with a weak chance of light showers in the eastern and southeastern parts of the country.
