Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Head of Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Senator Nael Al-Kabariti, and Turkish ambassador to Amman, Ismail Aramazhas, on Monday discussed means of boosting bilateral economic cooperation and how to overcome challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement by the Chamber on Tuesday said that talks during the meeting also tackled the need to encourage Turkish companies and business owners to invest in the Kingdom's promising economic sectors.
"Al-Kabariti stressed the necessity of expanding the base of exchanged goods between Jordan and Turkey, especially in terms of Jordanian exports which are still restricted to certain products, pointing to the role that private sector institutions can play in this regard," the statement added.
For his part, the envoy stressed the importance of seeking new ways for joint economic cooperation and enhancing communication between private sector institutions and companies of the two countries.
According to JCC's statistical data, the Kingdom's exports to Turkey in 2019 amounted to approximately $49 million, while imports stood at $821 million.
