Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The government announced Sunday evening that patients from Arab countries can come to the Kingdom for treatment after relaxing restrictions on travel that were imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Patients from the Arab Gulf, Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, Sudan, Yemen as well as Cyprus can submit their requests on the newly-launched website "", through which the request might be accepted or denied within 24 hours, according to a statement.

The medical packages tab on the site offers a number of procedures such as cardiovascular and orthopedic operations, as well as kidney transplants, cochlear implants, sleeve gastrectomy and other treatments with the price range appearing next to each procedure. Patients can also choose from any one of 20 different hospitals listed on the site to receive treatment.

Patients and their companions are required to undergo a coronavirus test 72 hours before arriving to the Kingdom. Once they are on hospital grounds, they will be swabbed for a second time, and two more times 7 days and 14 days after arrival. In the event that someone tests positive for the virus, they will be transferred to the Prince Hamza Hospital for treatment, it said.

The site informs users on the Health Ministry's quarantine measures, which include a 14-day isolation period for both patients and their companions either at the hospital or their hotel room, as well as an additional 14-day period at a local hotel.

To obtain approval, patients must fill out personal information, including their full name, nationality, country of residence, phone number and e-mail, and upload a copy of their passport. Only two companions are allowed for each patient regardless of their kinship, it pointed out.

The site requires the patient to state whether they are continuing their treatment, or if this is their first time applying, upload a copy of their medical report, and choose a hospital and mode of transport (land or air).

The hospital at which a patient will receive treatment will take care of transport procedures and provide vehicles for the patient and his companions to get to and from the airport or land borders as well as the hotel.

It is also required to submit an entry visa, if needed, on behalf of the patient via the website. If the visa is approved, the patient will receive an electronic notice.

The hospital will provide a list of 3, 4 and 5-star hotels for the patients to choose from to spend the mandatory quarantine period or remain in the Kingdom after the treatment period.

A special electronic payment feature for the site is being developed so that users can benefit from prepayment discounts.

The site's FAQ tab highlights "Aman," a government-launched mobile application that tracks the COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom and their contacts.

Patients can call the Health Ministry's hotline at 0096265004545 for inquiries or complaints.
