Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed Saturday the preparations undergoing ahead of the ninth China Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) that will be held Monday through teleconferencing.
The top diplomats emphasized their keenness to make the upcoming meeting, which Jordan was chosen to host in 2018, a success, hoping for it to bring forth decisions that would contribute to bolstering the cooperation between China and the Arab states.
Arab and Chinese foreign ministers are expected to discuss means to develop the future prospects of the CASCF as well as regional developments.
Safadi and Wang Yi underlined the continued cooperation between Jordan and China in a plethora of fields, chief of which are economy and tourism.
They also highlighted the ongoing deliberations on solving regional crises to ensure upholding peace and stability.
Also discussed was COVID-19, a lung disease caused by the novel coronavirus, and the need for concerted effort in the face of the pandemic's fallout.
Safadi lauded China for its position in support of the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and their firm stance against annexing any Palestinian territories .
In turn, Wang Yi praised the effort spearheaded by His Majesty the King in upholding regional peace and stability.
CASCF was established under a Chinese initiative in 2004.
