Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan has confirmed 27 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 890, according to a statement issued by the government and the Ministry of Health.
The new cases include three people who contracted the virus from infected persons in Amman, one of the cadres working at a hospital that receives COVID-19 patients, a non-Jordanian truck driver who was tested at the Al-Omari Border Crossing and was sent back to his home country, 22 citizens who have recently returned from abroad, including 20 from Egypt, one from Saudi Arabia and one from Kuwait.
According to the statement, seven recovery cases were reported today at Prince Hamzah Hospital.
"A total of 8,995 random tests have been conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 249,431," the statement indicated.
"Some are circulating incorrect information about reimposing a comprehensive curfew on Friday and we confirm that a total curfew will be reimposed if we reach the "moderate risk" level when over 10 local cases are recorded over seven consecutive days, according to the corona epidemic plan and matrix available at

The number of Jordanians who have returned to the Kingdom since the beginning of the gradual return process has reached more than 9,700. The third phase of repatriating Jordanians stranded abroad will end on June 18 with two trips from Doha and Montreal.
