Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court on Monday resumed the trial of pending security cases, which were suspended by the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The court said in a press release that it began trial sessions under presiding military judge Col. Ali Mubaideen, while observing the highest public safety standards and social distancing and abiding by the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Royal Medical Services and the Jordan Judicial Council guide.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the court has issued a ruling for the release of more than 1,800 defendants in line with government measures to stem the spread of the pandemic and "in a manner to ensure the safety of those in custody and reduce overcrowding in the correctional and rehabilitation centers."
