Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Jaber, announced two Covid-19 cases were recorded in Jordan, bringing the caseload since the start of the pandemic to 720.
Speaking at a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), on Wednesday, Jaber said an infection belongs to a Jordanian driver at Al Omari Border Crossing, and the other to a one-and-a-half-year-old girl staying with her parents at Prince Hamzah Hospital, who were admitted to the hospital Tuesday.
Jaber said a second test confirmed her infection today, adding she is in "good health condition."
Dr. Jaber also announced that 7 patients have recovered today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 486.
On the virus testing operations, he said the medical teams conducted about 3 thousand laboratory tests today to detect Covid-19 nationwide, announcing the testing campaign will increase after the Eid al-Fitr vacation.
As for the recommendations of the Epidemiological Committee, he said: "We have participated since the first day in this effort," adding the panel's members have a local, regional and international reputation and "we work jointly".
On the way to handle the the committee's output, he said its recommendations are being studied, and undergo several stages until they are implemented, in a bid to protect citizens, adding they are submitted to the decision-makers to take the next steps, which is in total an "integrated institutional work."
