Seven new COVID-19 cases recorded on Tuesday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Seven new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Jordan on Tuesday pushing the case tally to 718 since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom in early March, the Ministry of Health announced.

The new cases include three truck drivers diagnosed at the Omary border crossing with Saudi Arabia, the ministry said in its daily brief, adding that another three cases contracted the disease from an infected truck driver in the Quismeh area in eastern Amman. The last case was recorded in the northern Jerash governorate and contracted the disease from a confirmed infection.

Nine patients recovered and left hospitals today, according to the ministry which also said that 2,783 tests were conducted today, pushing the total to 167,892 since the beginning of the crisis.

The ministry indicated that no additional sectors or entities were allowed to reopen, urging all employees who resumed their work in both the private and public sectors to download and install the AMAN smartphone application to ensure they don't come into contact with infected persons.
