Jordanian shot by Israeli army, gov't following up on incident

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Jordanian citizen was shot and injured by Israeli army Wednesday dawn after he crossed the Kingdom's borders with Israel near Al-Baqoura in the northern region, an official government source announced.

The source said the government and concerned agencies are following up on the incident through official and diplomatic channels. According to preliminary investigations, the man, 49, infiltrated the borders into Israel with the aim of smuggling, the source said, adding that he is now in Israeli custody.
