Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecast mercury levels will increase few degrees on Thursday, bringing hot weather in most parts of the Kingdom, and very hot conditions in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
Clouds at medium and high altitudes are also expected, making a chance for light evening showers in the southern areas of the country, with southeasterly moderate winds, the Department said in its daily brief.
A further rise in temperatures is forecast on Friday, so hot conditions will continue to prevail in most regions, while it will be extremely hot in the Dead Seas, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, with clouds at various altitudes and a chance for light and scattered rain in the southern cities. Winds will be easterly to southeasterly moderate to brisk in the Badia at times, the JMD added.
Saturday is expected to bring in similar hot weather conditions with easterly to northeasterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD noted.
Day time temperatures expected for today will reach 36 degrees Celsius in Amman and 32 degrees in the northern governorates, dropping down to 21 and 18 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 41 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 26 degrees at night.
