Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Tuesday, with clouds appearing at various altitudes and a chance for light showers in the northern and central parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
In the afternoon, the Kingdom will be gradually affected by unstable weather conditions, pushing thermometers down and bringing relatively cold and partly cloudy to cloudy weather with intermittent rain that may turn heavy, accompanied by thunder and hail at times in some areas, and causing floods in valleys and lowlands. Winds will be northwesterly brisk with occasionally strong gusts, stirring dust in the Badia regions, the JMD added.
The Department warned of poor visibility due to fog formation and dust, mainly in the highlands and the Badia, as well as slippery roads and flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.
Temperatures will continue to dip on Wednesday, marking 6-7 degrees below their annual average, so partly cloudy to cloudy weather will persist with spotty showers in the northern and central regions and parts of the southern and eastern areas, while winds will be westerly brisk with strong gusts at times, raising dust in the Badia, the JMD further said.
In the evening, clouds will gradually ease and chances of rain will decrease as the weather will start to stabilize, the Department forecast, expecting fog formation over the hilly areas in the late night hours.
Mercury levels will rise again on Thursday, bringing spring-like and fair weather conditions in most parts of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be warm, with low-altitude clouds and westerly moderate winds, the JMD noted.
Temperatures expected for today will reach 22 degrees Celsius in Amman and 17 in the northern cities, dropping down to 11 and 9 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 31 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 19 degrees at night.
