25-04-2020 02:35 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Mafraq governorate will see curfew restrictions eased as of Sunday morning, making it the fourth governorate where curfew restrictions will be adjusted.

Speaking at the daily briefing on COVID-19 pandemic at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said that movement in the governorate on foot or by using vehicles will be allowed from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.

Easing restrictions in other governorates will be studied and assessed, and will be dependent on further health and logistical developments, he explained.

Adaileh highlighted that residents in the governorates that have witnessed easing of curfew restrictions, Irbid, Ma’an, Tafilah, Karak, and Aqaba, will be allowed to move on foot and by using vehicles from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.

The Minister said the government has not yet taken a formal decision to ease curfew restrictions and resume work in ministries and public institutions in governorates that have not recorded COVID-19 infections, pointing out the government had received recommendations on easing curfew restrictions in other governorates that will be taken into consideration, adding "we will announce any decisions as soon as they are made."

He said that resuming work in ministries and public institutions will be gradual, as some vital service institutions will start offering services next week.

Adaileh said that competent teams will work around the clock to detect any violations in the markets, including monopoly and price gouging, stressing that legal action will be taken against violators.

On the briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic in Ramadan, he said the government will continue holding the briefing but at different times and whenever it is necessary.
