331 vehicles impounded, 827 arrested for flouting curfew

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 331 vehicles were impounded and 827 persons were arrested in the past 24 hours, for violating the curfew imposed to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Public Security Department (PSD).

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Department's spokesperson said that seized vehicles will be transferred to impound yards designated for this purpose in Muwaqqar and Swaqa, adding fines will be levied upon the owners when they receive their vehicles after one month.

"Security personnel in patrols and checkpoints are working around the clock to control violations against the orders issued under the Defence Law," he hightailed, stressing that the police will not tolerate any breach of the current rules.
