Industry Minister : All economic sectors will operate if COVID-19 cases decline

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hamouri, announced many commercial sectors and their supply chains are now working with "high" efficiency, pointing out plans are being mulled with the competent authorities to resume operations across the rest of the commercial sectors gradually according to the guidelines and requirements of public health and safety.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management on Thursday, the minister said the situation will be evaluated during the coming period and appropriate decisions will be taken in this regard.

He also noted several industrial sectors are operating with high efficiency, especially in the food and pharmaceutical industries, pointing out after consulting with the epidemiology committee, the rest of the industrial sectors will resume operations at their factories at a rate of 40 percent for sectors that that have not yet worked starting from the completion of preparing a mechanism for receiving electronic permits.

The industrial sector will continue to operate and export operations to be maintained by the industrial sectors that will be opened provided that public health and safety are taken into account, he noted, adding inspection will be carried out by the competent authorities, and the non-compliant facility will be closed and referred to the competent authorities.
