Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The number of e-services launched by the Interior Ministry has so far reached 19 main services that include 34 sub e-services related to visas, residencies and cancellation of deportation decisions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Interior Minister, Salameh Hammad, said beneficiaries from theses services include Jordanian and foreign citizens from inside and outside the Kingdom, ministries, government departments, institutions, companies, universities, hospitals, civil society institutions, embassies, diplomatic missions, and others.
Hammad pointed out that the completion rate of the Ministry's e-transformation project reached 76 percent, and the project will be completed this year, specifically in terms of transactions that the ministry provides directly to citizens and foreigners.
The Interior Minister estimated the number of e-applications submitted last year to date at about 113,000 applications and the number of people benefiting from them for the same period is estimated at 192,000 people, indicating that the number of e-visas that were issued for the same period amounted to about 51,000 visas, the number of residence permits issued amount to about 73,000 and the number of e-accounts were about 63,000 accounts.
Regarding the ministry's future directions, Hammad said the implementation of the e-transformation project will be completed, as work is currently underway to automate 6 new services in preparation for launching and making them available electronically to citizens and foreigners in mid-year.
