Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 380,000 barrels of Iraqi crude oil passed through the Jordan Petroleum Refinery (JPR) in January, at an average of 12,000 barrels a day, Energy Minister Hala Zawati said.
In a statement issued on Monday, Zawati noted that around 1,473 tankers transported about 50,6 thousand tons of Iraqi crude oil from Baiji refinery to the JPR last month.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed in February 2019, Jordan purchases Iraq's Kirkuk oil at an average of 10,000 barrels a day at benchmark crude Brent prices, minus transport costs and deviations in standards. This only meets a part of Jordan's annual needs of crude oil.
